Meetings

On June 18, 2019 the Round Table Pension Topicalities 2019 was held in Castle De Hooge Vuursche in Baarn, where the participants were brought up-to-date with the Pension Pact. The timing was exceptional or maybe purely coincidence. Nevertheless, after an exciting few days, it turned out that the event took place a mere three days after the Pension Pact became reality. Accordingly, together with the co-organisers Triple A-Risk Finance and Breek Board Consultants, we informed all attenders about truly the most red-hot pension topicalities.

Led by the day’s chairman Michiel Huisman the three speakers complemented each other: Jos Gielink dealt with the legal and tax aspects, Mik Breek focused on the topics from the point of view of a governance expert, and Hen Veerman from an actuarial angle. Issues that were addressed included the new pension system and its consequences. Furthermore attention was paid to developments in Belgian cross border pensions, governance in the new regime, suitainable employability and the new role of the works council with regard to employees representation on the subject of pensions as an employee benefit. A PDF of the presentation can be downloaded here.
